“We have just put in an offer on a property and need to find a Solicitor. Our Agent has recommended a Conveyancing firm, but they are not based locally. Does our Solicitor need to be in the area in which we are buying?”
The short answer is no, we can deal with conveyancing transactions throughout the UK, however, there can be benefits to choosing a local reputable firm of Solicitors. Many conveyancing businesses can be affiliated with Estate Agents or offer Estate Agent’s a referral fee. You should make sure to do your research and carefully consider the service level you will require before making your choice.
At Harold G Walker we aim to offer a friendly, approachable service, provided by fully qualified staff. You will have direct contact with your Conveyancing Solicitor and their experienced team. We aim to offer clear, professional advice, in a way that is straightforward and easy to understand. We have four branches across the Dorset area where you can pop in to drop off or pick up documentation as necessary. We offer an internal, secure, courier service between our offices so you can select the most convenient office for you whilst you are out and about. Much of our business is local and via recommendations from existing clients and Estate Agents. We will never pay referral fees to Estate Agents, so recommendations are due to good service alone, and this ultimately reduces the cost to you.
As a firm of Solicitors, we are fully regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority, and we are proud to be a member of the Law Society Conveyancing Quality Scheme. We are also on all major mortgage lender’s panels and a member of the Help to Buy Scheme.
At Harold G Walker Solicitors, we take extensive measures behind the scenes to protect our clients. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that meet and exceed industry and regulatory standards. We were also proud to receive the Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation, which demonstrates our commitment to cyber security and aims to give our clients even greater confidence in the protection of their data.
