Based at our Broadstone office, Hannah Woosey is a dedicated Legal Secretary in our Wills and Probate department. With 18 months’ experience at Harold G Walker Solicitors, Hannah plays a vital role in supporting our solicitors and providing clients with a personal, caring service. Her commitment to making a difference in clients’ lives and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations reflects the values we uphold as Your Friend-In-Law.

A Journey Into Law

From having no experience working in a Law Firm to having worked at Harold G Walker Solicitors for 18 months, my journey to becoming a fully trained Legal Secretary has been thoroughly enjoyable and marked by the knowledgeable individuals that surround me.

I want to write this article to show that despite not being a solicitor at the Firm, I am a valued member of the team and of our HGW Junior Committee.

With our first meeting fast approaching, I am looking forward to sharing my perspective as someone who carries out a different role in the business. However, our main goal is always to put the client first at the centre of what we do as Your Friend-In-Law.

Making a Difference for Clients

I love how varied everyday is as a Legal Secretary and the visible difference you can make in a client’s life even just by sharing a kind word. From phones ringing to emails flying in to drafting important documents to spending time explaining processes to clients, there is always a new task to get stuck into and new things to learn.

The relationship you build with your fee-earner is integral to how you work as a team. A good secretary, in my opinion, should allow the solicitor to carry out the important work without worrying about the behind-the-scenes admin.

My favourite part of my job is helping people and taking the stress out of what can be a very stressful and difficult time especially in the Wills and Probate department. I enjoy providing the personal touch and I believe as a Firm this is what we endeavour to always do.
