Job description
We are seeking a dedicated Legal Cashier/Accounts Assistant for a full-time, on-site position located in Wimborne. The role involves the day-to-day management of client and office accounts in compliance with Solicitors’ Accounts Rules. Duties include processing payments, receipts, and transfers, reconciling client and office accounts, managing invoices, maintaining compliance records, and liaising with fee earners and clients on financial matters. Ensuring accuracy and providing high-quality service will be central to your responsibilities.
This position is a permanent full-time role. Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm, with 1 hour for lunch which equates to a 35 hour week. We offer an attractive salary ranging from £24,000 – £26,000 which will be based on individual’s qualifications and experience.
Qualifications
- Experience in legal cashiering, accounts management, and understanding of Solicitors’ Accounts Rules desirable
- Experience with Sales and Purchase ledgers, banking, reconciliations, credit control and VAT returns.
- Proficiency in accounting software, spreadsheets, and financial record management
- Strong numerical, organisational, and time management skills to meet deadlines
- Attention to detail along with effective verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and maintain confidential client and office financial records
- Previous experience in the legal sector or familiarity with legal terminology is an advantage
- You should be willing to adopt a strong compliance culture, and training is provided as required.
